Yes, OBVES, but those biblical passages didn't stop the WTS from making prophesy about 1975. If anyone is kidding himself, it is apparently you.

Are they really that bad???
by anonymous4 inhad a good look into the doctrine, beliefs and practices of jws and to be honest, i don't really see anything wrong with it at all.. it's biblical and i've had such an eye opener the past year or so reading some of their books and magazines .
is there really any real reasons why i shouldn't want to get involved further?

1879 AD , 1884 AD , 1914 AD imply the revival of the true christian religion and who is linked to these dates ? The International Bible Student Association and their legitimate successors are Jehovah's Witnesses no question about that !
You forgot 1975. You're linked to that date, too.

Thank you, OUTLAW. I expect you may be right. What ever happened to the Reniaa incarnation? Was it terminated for being insufferable?

How can one expect to be credible when he/she is ingenuous? Is this typical of devoted Jehovah's Witnesses?

lion cask if you find ad hominem attacks as better arguments and completely ignoring the points actually raised then who really is not facing reality?
Here I thought I was paying you a compliment, debator. Of course, if you are really just playing a role then your response to my compliment is entirely predictable. Well done. However, what I have noticed from reading older threads to which you have contributed is a subtle penchant you have for not answering certain questions. For example, were you really known as Reniaa in an earlier incarnation? Seems like a simple yes/no question.
Thank you for the open invitation, isaacaustin. I just may take you up on it sometime.

If Genesis isn't taken literally, who's sin did Jesus die for?
by unshackled inthis is an interesting blog post by the author cj werleman - write of the books god hates you, hate him back and jesus lied - he was only human.
he writes with a good dose of humor which usually helps get his point across.. the blog post dissects the latest gallup poll results regarding 40% of americans believe in biblical creationism.
but the point i found interesting in it was that if you don't believe the genesis account is literal....then jesus atoned for the sin of a fictitious character, adam.. here is a quote from the blog...but please give the whole thing a read, makes more sense that way:.

Your response to my observations of you is most generous and also gracious, AGuest. Thank you.
I have never equated faith to a mustard seed. Uncertainty, yes. My doubt in the existence of any god of whatever name is profound but I cannot assert that there is not a god with the same degree of certainty you assert that there is. That is my mustard seed. I do not just know I am right. As much as the body of evidence supporting what I believe to be true is mountainous, as much as logic and reason tell me otherwise, I cannot but accept that I could be wrong and there is a god. Somewhere. Is it the god of the Bible? I might certainly hope not.
I guess I would fall into the sixth category of Dawkins' scale, approaching but never reaching a seven for the mustard seed that stands in the way. From what I know from the dozens of your posts (lengthy as they are) I've gone back to read, you are in category one. That's ok with me. To each his or her own.
Merry Christmas.

Nothing quite like being alone at Christmas - reminiscent of that line in You never give me your money - "Oh that magic feeling, nowhere to go ..."
Chin up, girl. You're not alone. Take a cue from that pretty blue butterfly on your right shoulder and spread your wings a little. Get out to the Lime Ridge Mall or Eastgate Square, grab a big coffee at Timmy's, find a nice bench and watch the world of madness go by. It'll cheer you up.
By the way, Merry Christmas.

i was terrified.
we were told they would bother you if you were faithful, but also if you fell away.

The thing I like best about this time of year are all the fruitcakes. They're ubiquitous.

Death has always been a part of life on Earth.
Ummmmm... not quite. Prior to Adam's sin, death only had a part in the spirit realm. Just like Christ is the "Door" through which life entered into the physical realm, Adam is the "Door" through which death entered into the physical realm
I've been reading your posts, AGuest. I could say they are fascinating, but mostly they are very, very long, and they rely on an apparently unshakable faith in your personal interpretation of the Bible as fact. And the voices you say you hear, but that's another matter entirely. While it is 100% provable (let's say 99.99999999999999999%, just for argument's sake) that the statement "Death has always been a part of life on Earth" is accurate based on overwhelming physical evidence, your statement, on the other hand, is 0% (ok, let's call it 0.000000000000000000000001%, again for argument's sake) provable. With respect, because you assert something to be true and you believe it with all your very being doesn't make it true.

An excellent example, Mad Sweeney. No, I did not see the gorilla.
(I do hope you appreciate the compliment. It uses up one of the three posts I'm allowed over the next 5 hours. I assume the powers that be will allow me more than 10/24 hours at some point or another.)

Edit: (don't want to use up my penultimate post) Yes, Violia but Godwin's Law says when the thread becomes about Hitler it is officially over. The mention of Hitler is in reference to a comment about an avatar, a response to which remains to be seen.
